Research & Preservation
The Directorate General of Archaeology & Museums, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, undertakes important research and archaeological excavations to uncover and preserve the province’s ancient heritage.
Recent Scientific excavation conducted by Directorate General Of Archaeology & Museums Peshawar at Bahu Dheri Swabi revealed a gigantic stupa surrounded by several votive stupas and chappels. The research unearthed a large number of Gandharan artifacts including Jatakas, decorative panels, sculptures etc.
